Main Vaapas Aaunga collected Rs. 1.10 crore on its first Monday, registering a 5 per cent drop from the opening day. That’s a promising hold to say so, as usually films tend to drop by 30 to 50 per cent on Monday. However, it still isn’t something game-changing. The movie will need to continue with the same momentum for a long run to reach a respectable total.
Backed by Applause Entertainment, the Imtiaz Ali directorial currently stands at Rs. 6.75 crore nett at the Indian box office. Since Tuesday will have discounted ticket fares, the movie is expected to hold well. If the movie manages to perform on the expected lines, it will end its first week around Rs. 8 to 9 crore.
The one positive for Main Vaapas Aaunga is that earlier it was looking to wind up its full run around Rs. 10 crore, but now it will go slightly over. The movie is still performing lower than its rival release, Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past. It will be interesting to see whether Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari can surprise in the coming days.
Day-wise box office collections of Main Vaapas Aaunga are as follows:
Day Box Office
1 Rs. 1.15 crore
2 Rs. 1.85 crore
3 Rs. 2.65 crore
4 Rs. 1.10 crore
Total Rs. 6.75 crore
