Suriya was last seen headlining Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. As the actor moves forward with an exciting lineup of projects, fresh buzz indicates that he could be exploring a collaboration with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar.
Suriya and Nelson Dilipkumar likely to join forces for Suriya50?
According to reports from Valai Pechu, Suriya is reportedly interested in teaming up with Nelson Dilipkumar for his milestone 50th film, tentatively referred to as Suriya50. Sources suggest that the actor’s team has approached the filmmaker for a potential comedy-based entertainer.
However, Nelson is currently occupied with Jailer 2 and is simultaneously overseeing the pre-production work of KHxRK Reunion. As a result, discussions are said to be at a very early stage.
Reports further claim that the project could be produced by Sithara Entertainments, while music composer Anirudh Ravichander may come on board to handle the soundtrack and background score. That said, neither the makers nor the actors involved have officially confirmed the development.
Suriya’s upcoming projects
Suriya’s most recent release, Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, revolved around a father-daughter duo who travel to Chennai for a crucial medical procedure. Their lives take an unexpected turn when the gold meant to fund the surgery is stolen, setting off a chain of events that leads them to seek divine intervention from Karuppusamy.
The film also featured Trisha Krishnan, RJ Balaji, Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi, Natarajan Subramaniam, Swasika, and Sshivada in pivotal roles. The ending hinted at a follow-up titled Karuppu vs Vellai.
Up next, Suriya will star in Vishwanath And Sons, directed by Venky Atluri and co-starring Mamitha Baiju. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on August 14, 2026, with the first single set to be unveiled on June 17.
Additionally, the actor is working on the tentatively titled Suriya47, directed by Jithu Madhavan, which also stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Naslen in key roles.
