Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, the dazzling trio of the fashion world, returned in their fan favorite versions of Miranda, Andy, and Emily in The Devil Wears Prada 2. As such, the film opened with a whopping 233.3 million USD debut and managed to easily gross over 300 million USD in its first weekend. While the movie is making millions of dollars, so are the stars. According to a Variety report, the lead actresses were each paid 12.5 million USD for their reprisals, and of them, the oldest star may have taken a considerable hit downwards to match the rate of her counterparts.

The second film in the franchise, The Devil Wears Prada 2, was one of the most anticipated releases of the year, and rightfully so, what with its comeback to the screens after 20 years. It managed to impress viewers more with word of mouth and its quirky callbacks than anything else. As reports of it earning in hundreds of millions come in, the salaries of the actors have been hinted at in a new report.

According to the claims, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt ‘brokered’ a deal to have equal pay for all three of them on the film. Many insiders estimate that the oldest star could have easily demanded close to 15 million USD for her return, but chose to have equality instead.

However, the earnings do not stop there for the three, as there are rumors of box office bonuses being offered to them, which would easily turn up the numbers to a near 20 million USD paycheck by the end of its theatrical run. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will also surely make a whopping amount in its OTT deal, which further puts the spotlight on the stars’ earnings. However, not much is known about a digital debut so far.
