Bhooth Bangla enjoyed a strong second weekend at the box office, collecting around ₹28.25 crore nett, including approximately ₹12 crore on Sunday alone. The drop from its first weekend (excluding previews) stood at 46%, which is considered a healthy hold. With this performance, the film has crossed the ₹100 crore mark in India, taking its total to about ₹108.75 crore nett. This also marks the 20th ₹100 crore film for Akshay Kumar—the highest for any actor.
The film had already been declared a HIT on Friday, and the weekend growth has only strengthened its position. It becomes the third HIT of the year for the Hindi film industry after Border 2 and Dhurandhar 2. For Akshay Kumar, this is his first HIT since OMG 2 and notably his first non-franchise HIT since Good Newwz. Looking ahead, the film is expected to collect around ₹40 crore in its second week, pushing its total past ₹120 crore in two weeks. Despite two new releases in the third week, it is likely to remain steady and could finish with a lifetime total of around ₹150–160 crore nett.
Akshay Kumar had faced a challenging phase at the box office post-pandemic, with several underperforming films. While last year saw moderate success with a few decent performers, none achieved HIT status—until now. His consistent output has always been a key factor in keeping the industry active. Even without ₹500 crore blockbusters, delivering two or three successful films a year plays a crucial role in sustaining box office momentum. This is where he stands apart from many contemporaries, except perhaps Ajay Devgn, who also maintains a steady release pace.
