Dharma Productions’ Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, is gearing up for its theatrical release. Advance booking opened just two days ago, but early reports suggest a slow start. As of 11 PM on Tuesday, December 23, around 12,500 tickets had been sold across the top national chains—PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis—for the opening day. However, a large portion of these bookings comes from external factors, and organic sales appear to be much lower.
With one day still left before release, the film will need to gain momentum in advance sales to ensure a strong opening. Current trends indicate that pre-sales may reach around 30,000 tickets—far from ideal for a high-budget film featuring two popular stars.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is currently trailing behind Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash in advance bookings for the Christmas holiday. While not entirely unexpected, this reflects a broader trend: romantic comedies have been struggling to draw audiences in the post-pandemic era, especially against strong holdover releases. Additionally, the film’s promotional campaign hasn’t generated as much curiosity as hoped.
On the bright side, being a holiday release could work in its favor, potentially attracting casual viewers looking for light entertainment. As a result, opening day collections are now forecasted at Rs. 5–8 crore, down from the earlier estimate of Rs. 6–10 crore.
