Irumudi is maintaining its strong run at the Indian box office. The Ravi Teja-led film collected approximately Rs. 5.75 crore gross on its third Saturday, recording a modest 10 per cent decline compared to Friday. The Telugu states continued to contribute almost the entire collection.
The film’s India gross has now reached Rs. 187.25 crore, with approximately Rs. 169 crore coming from the Telugu states. Going by the current trends, Irumudi is expected to finish the third weekend with around Rs. 193-194 crore gross. The film is then likely to cross the Rs. 200 crore mark in India during the weekdays.
Day-Wise Box Office Collections of Irumudi in India
| Day | Gross Collection |
|---|---|
| Week One | Rs. 107.00 cr. |
| Week Two | Rs. 68.00 cr. |
| 3rd Friday | Rs. 6.50 cr. |
| 3rd Saturday | Rs. 5.75 cr. |
| Total | Rs. 187.25 cr. |
Irumudi is also still within touching distance of the Rs. 200 crore milestone in the Telugu states, although the target is not as certain as it appeared to be last weekend.
So far, only seven films have crossed Rs. 200 crore gross in APTS, with almost all of them benefiting from increased ticket prices. Baahubali 2 is the notable exception in terms of the broader comparison, although it too had higher ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh. However, the elevated ticket prices from 2017 are now broadly comparable with today’s regular ticket prices.
Therefore, if Irumudi manages to cross Rs. 200 crore in the Telugu states, it will achieve the feat without relying on increased ticket rates. This would indicate that the film has recorded stronger footfalls than several of the other films that have previously reached the Rs. 200 crore milestone.
