Mirzapur The Movie Box Office: Strong Day 2 Growth Confirms SUPER HIT Verdict

by masalabuzz

Mirzapur: The Movie is firmly on course to emerge as a SUPER HIT, with early trends indicating a second-day collection of approximately Rs. 28-29 crore nett. The film is currently performing around 10 per cent above its opening-day business through the matinee shows, and this advantage is expected to widen to nearly 15 per cent by the end of the day. Should the evening and night shows pick up more strongly than anticipated, the film could even reach the Rs. 30 crore nett mark, representing a growth of around 20 per cent over Day 1.

Maharashtra is recording the strongest gains for the film, primarily because the first day did not benefit from a holiday in the market. Mysore is also showing a notable jump in business, which is fairly typical for the territory on Saturdays. Delhi-UP continues to be the film’s leading market and is witnessing healthy growth compared to Friday. The Hindi-speaking heartland is expected to remain broadly in line with the opening day, whereas Gujarat could witness a decline due to the major Janmashtami holiday in the state.

As the film opened on a holiday, the underlying growth in business is actually closer to or above 50 per cent when adjusted for the different day conditions. This represents an excellent jump following an already strong opening. Such a substantial rise on the second day gives the film a strong foundation for a SUPER HIT verdict, as a performance of this nature generally indicates that the film should maintain healthy collections during the remainder of its theatrical run. There is also scope for the film to outperform the SUPER HIT benchmark, although that will ultimately be determined by its Monday numbers and the level of stability it maintains over the following days and weeks.
