Irumudi Box Office: Ravi Teja starrer scores its biggest 3rd Friday in APTS, goes beyond Rs. 200 crore worldwide

by masalabuzz

Telugu film Irumudi has begun its third week on a strong note, collecting approximately Rs. 6.25–6.50 crore at the Indian box office on its 3rd Friday. Almost the entire collection came from the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (APTS), which contributed around Rs. 6 crore.

The Friday numbers mark the highest-ever 3rd Friday collection for a film in APTS, surpassing the Rs. 5.50 crore recorded by Baahubali: The Conclusion. The Janmashtami holiday played a major role in driving the record numbers. Even without the holiday advantage, Irumudi would have ranked among the top three films of all time for a 3rd Friday in the twin Telugu states.

After 15 days, the Ravi Teja starrer has accumulated approximately Rs. 181.50 crore in India, with around Rs. 164 crore coming from APTS alone. Adding approximately Rs. 22 crore from overseas markets, the film has crossed the Rs. 200 crore worldwide gross milestone.

The Day-Wise Box Office Collections for Irumudi in India are as follows:

DayGross
Week OneRs. 107.00 cr.
Week TwoRs. 68.00 cr.
3rd FridayRs. 6.50 cr.
TotalRs. 181.50 cr.

Irumudi is now expected to cross the Rs. 200 crore mark in India before the end of its third week. The film is also still in contention to achieve the same milestone in APTS, although that outcome is no longer as certain as it appeared last weekend.

So far, only seven films have grossed Rs. 200 crore or more in APTS, with almost all of them achieving the feat with the benefit of hiked ticket prices. Baahubali: The Conclusion is the notable exception, although it too had increased ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh at the time of its release in 2017. Those rates are now broadly comparable to today’s regular ticket prices.

If Irumudi reaches the Rs. 200 crore mark in APTS, it will accomplish the feat without any hiked ticket rates. This would indicate that its footfalls are higher than those of several other films that have crossed the Rs. 200 crore gross milestone in the region.

The Territorial Breakdown for Irumudi in India is as follows:
