Superstar Rajinikanth recently marked a remarkable 51 years in Indian cinema, celebrating the milestone on the sets of his upcoming film Dharman. The production team shared a video from the celebrations, showing the actor cutting a cake alongside the cast and crew.
Rajinikanth Marks 51 Years of Stardom
Sharing the special moment on social media, the Dharman team celebrated the milestone with the caption, “51 YEARS. ONE NAME, ONE SUPERSTAR.”
Rajinikanth entered the film industry on August 15, 1975, with Apoorva Raagangal, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead. He initially appeared in supporting and antagonist roles before establishing himself as a leading man and eventually becoming one of the most influential superstars in Indian cinema.
To commemorate the occasion, Rajinikanth celebrated with his Dharman co-stars Simran Bagga and Raashii Khanna, along with director Ashwath Marimuthu.
Rajinikanth’s Dharman: Cast and Crew
Dharman, earlier known by its working title Thalaivar 173, features Rajinikanth alongside Simran Bagga, Yogi Babu and Raashii Khanna in important roles.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music and background score, while Niketh Bommireddy is handling cinematography. Pradeep E. Ragav serves as the editor, with the action choreography being handled by the Anbariv duo. The makers have also recently commenced the film’s second schedule.
The project has gone through several changes behind the camera. Sundar C was initially announced as the director but later exited the film. Cibi Chakaravarthi was subsequently attached to the project before Ashwath Marimuthu ultimately took over the directorial responsibilities.
Rajinikanth’s Upcoming Projects
Rajinikanth will next be seen in Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The action entertainer is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 15, 2026, and is expected to feature Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles.
Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are also expected to reprise their cameo appearances from the first instalment, while Hrithik Roshan is reportedly set to make a special appearance.
Beyond Dharman, Rajinikanth is also associated with the tentatively titled KHxRK Reunion, which is expected to bring him together with Kamal Haasan once again.
