by masalabuzz

I’m Game, featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, is being promoted as the actor’s homecoming to Malayalam cinema and was originally scheduled to arrive in theatres during the Onam 2026 season. However, the film may now be pushed back, potentially steering clear of a crowded festive box-office period that also includes Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa: Part 1 and Nivin Pauly’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.

Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game likely to miss Onam 2026 release?

According to a report by Let’s Cinema, Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game has reportedly encountered delays in its post-production work. As a result, the film is said to be moving away from its previously announced August 20, 2026 theatrical release date. However, these details are currently based on a report, and the makers have yet to officially confirm any postponement.

The film revolves around Dan John, a carefree man who enjoys living life on his own terms while looking for ways to make quick money. Rather than depending entirely on chance, Dan uses an algorithm to determine his bets. However, his seemingly successful approach takes an unexpected turn when the system begins working against him, sending his life into a downward spiral.

The makers recently released the film’s trailer, which offered glimpses of its stylish presentation, high-octane action sequences, and larger-than-life visuals.

Alongside Dulquer Salmaan, the movie features Antony Varghese Pepe, Kayadu Lohar, Kathir, Mysskin, Samyuktha, Vinay Forrt, Jayasudha, Shyamaprasad, among others, in significant roles.

The team also recently released the first song from the film, ‘Mazhavillaye’. Composed by Jakes Bejoy, the romantic track has been sung by Armaan Malik, while the lyrics have been penned by Sharfu.

Speaking about working with Armaan Malik on the song, Dulquer expressed his admiration for the singer, saying, “It’s such a privilege to have you bring so much soul and your own spirit to this track brother. Been your fan forever, so this is truly special! Lots of love always.”

Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming projects

After I’m Game, Dulquer Salmaan is set to headline Aakasamlo Oka Tara. The film has been written and directed by Pavan Sadineni, with Satvika Veeravalli and Shruti Haasan playing the female leads.

The actor also has Sri Sri in his upcoming lineup. Directed by Ravi Nelakuditi, the film stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead, while Dheekshith Shetty has an important role. The makers recently released the film’s first single, composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, on Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday.
