Ajith Kumar is currently preparing for his upcoming film Dare Devil, directed by Adhik Ravichandran. Amid the excitement surrounding the project, fresh reports indicate that the actor could soon collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker Shankar for a new venture.
Ajith Kumar and Shankar likely to team up
According to reports from Touring Talkies, Ajith Kumar and director Shankar are in talks for a potential collaboration. The project is said to move forward after Ajith completes work on Dare Devil and the much-discussed Mankatha 2. Reports suggest that both the script and budget have aligned, paving the way for the film.
Interestingly, Shankar was expected to begin work on his ambitious adaptation of Velpari, but the project may face a delay, creating room for another film beforehand. However, neither Ajith Kumar nor Shankar has officially confirmed the development.
Dare Devil: What we know so far
Ajith’s next outing, Dare Devil (previously referred to as AK64), was recently announced with Adhik Ravichandran at the helm. The film will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander, reuniting the composer with Ajith after Vedhalam and Vidaamuyarchi.
Unlike Good Bad Ugly, the upcoming entertainer is reportedly being designed as a family-oriented commercial film with broader audience appeal. Adhik has also hinted at several surprises in store for fans.
The project is expected to begin filming later this year, with reports suggesting Ajith has allotted around 75 shooting days. It is also being reported that Shalini Ajithkumar will produce the film under the Brave Hearts Productions banner. Rumors further suggest that Kayadu Lohar and Mohanlal may play key roles.
Ajith Kumar’s recent work
Ajith Kumar was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, where he played a former underworld don known as Red Dragon. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film featured an ensemble cast including Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Jackie Shroff, Priya Prakash Varrier, and Shine Tom Chacko.
Apart from Dare Devil, Ajith is also rumored to reunite with director Venkat Prabhu for the highly anticipated Mankatha 2.
