Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, is slated to release in theatres on June 4, 2026. During a recent media interaction, the actress revealed how airport authorities during her international trips often associate Indian actors with Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and RRR.
Speaking to IANS, amid Peddi promotions, Janhvi Kapoor revealed that whenever she interacts with airport authorities outside India, they often ask her about Ram Charan and RRR.
The actress said, “I was just in America recently, and I have to tell everyone that the reference point for Indians right now is you. Even at immigration, they ask, ‘Are you an actor?’ and I say, ‘Yes, I am an actor.’ Then they go like, ‘Oh yes, RRR… Ram Charan… NTR,’ and I’m like, ‘Sure!’”

Karuppu: RJ Balaji reveals Suriya rejected Mookuthi Amman dialogue, shares Aamir Khan’s praise for fantasy actioner
Karuppu, starring Suriya in the lead role, was released in theatres on May 15, 2026. Directed by RJ Balaji, the fantasy action drama has been creating a strong buzz due to its critical acclaim and box office success. Now, the film’s director has revealed that Aamir Khan texted Suriya following the movie’s success. He also shared how the Retro star was initially reluctant to deliver the Mookuthi Amman dialogue.
Speaking with Cinema Vikatan, RJ Balaji said, “After the release of Karuppu, Aamir Khan texted Suriya sir, and he forwarded the message to me. Silambarasan TR also called and wished me. Moreover, many big directors reached out too.”
The actor-director further said, “I communicated the film correctly. Otherwise, I couldn’t have stood up against the criticism from today’s social media. People trust me, so I need to tell the truth. We presented a good story in the first half. That’s why, even though there wasn’t much story in the second half, audiences still enjoyed it.”
Additionally, RJ Balaji mentioned that Suriya was initially reluctant to say the Mookuthi Amman dialogue and even asked for it to be removed from the final cut. The director said, “Suriya sir was not ready to do it. I forced him, and I even mentioned the names of my other films too. He kept saying, ‘I won’t do it… I won’t do it… I won’t do it.’”
He added, “One week before the release, he asked me to remove it. He said, ‘We should not mock other people’s films.’ He’s a very good person. I told him, ‘I directed the film, sir. It’s fine.’”
