Salman Khan is reportedly making headlines for accepting a substantial pay cut for his upcoming film SVC63, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film, which is expected to arrive in theatres on Eid 2027, is said to be one of the actor’s most awaited projects. According to reports, Salman has agreed to a remuneration of Rs 70 crore, significantly lower than the Rs 120 crore-plus fee he is believed to command for most of his films.

For nearly two decades, Salman Khan has remained one of Bollywood’s highest-paid stars, with reports suggesting his remuneration has typically started at around Rs 120 crore per film. His reported decision to accept almost half of his usual fee has therefore caught the industry’s attention. Although neither the actor nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed the development, reports claim the move was driven by personal relationships rather than financial considerations.
According to the Free Press Journal, Salman agreed to lower his upfront remuneration because of his close friendship with Rafi Kazi, who reportedly played a key role in bringing the project together and is also expected to be credited as one of the film’s producers.
Quoting a source, the publication reported:
“Salman, whose market value has remained above Rs 120 crore per film for nearly two decades, is believed to have offered this concession to the makers of SVC63 because his longtime friend, Rafi Kazi, is associated with the project. Rafi will also be credited as one of the producers, and it is this friendship that reportedly prompted Salman to reduce his upfront fee.”

If the reports are accurate, the decision would be in line with Salman Khan’s long-standing reputation for standing by his friends and colleagues in the film industry. Over the years, the actor has reportedly made several cameo appearances and special roles without charging a fee, including in Son of Sardaar starring Ajay Devgn and Raja Shivaji, associated with Riteish Deshmukh.
