Raja Shivaji Trailer to Release April 20; Riteish Deshmukh’s Son Plays Young Shivaji

The much-anticipated trailer of Raja Shivaji, a grand historical epic based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is set to be unveiled on April 20. The makers are planning a lavish launch event in Mumbai, with the entire cast and crew expected to be in attendance.

Grand trailer launch planned

According to sources, the trailer launch will be a large-scale event that reflects the film’s ambitious vision. “It’s going to be a grand affair, befitting the scale of the film. The entire team will come together to unveil the trailer,” a source shared.

In a special highlight, Riteish Deshmukh’s son is set to make his acting debut in the film, portraying a young Shivaji—marking a significant personal milestone for the actor-director.

Star-studded ensemble cast

Raja Shivaji features an extensive ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amol Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh, alongside Riteish Deshmukh himself, who also directs the film. Salman Khan is expected to appear in a cameo role.

Production and release details

Presented by Jio Studios, the film is produced under the banner of Mumbai Film Company by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh. Following the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Jyoti Deshpande is also expected to attend the trailer launch event.

Mounted on a grand scale, the film aims to bring the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj to life with authenticity and cinematic spectacle.

Raja Shivaji is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2026, in Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu, promising a cinematic experience rooted in history, emotion, and grandeur.
