Based on its current trend, the Imtiaz Ali directorial, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang, and Sharvari, is expected to add around Rs. 3 crore by the end of its fifth week. However, with more releases arriving in the coming days, the film has entered the final phase of its theatrical journey. It is now projected to wrap up its domestic run in the range of Rs. 61-63 crore nett.
Although those numbers may not be enough to secure a Clean Hit verdict, the film’s performance remains remarkable considering it opened with just around Rs. 1 crore on its first day. Such a turnaround is uncommon at the box office. Had it enjoyed a relatively competition-free window for a couple of weeks, Main Vaapas Aaunga could well have achieved Hit status. Even so, its theatrical performance deserves appreciation.
