Main Vaapas Aaunga continued its steady theatrical run by collecting an estimated Rs. 1.75 crore on its fourth Saturday, registering a 75% jump over the previous day’s Rs. 1 crore. With this, the film’s fourth weekend total stands at Rs. 2.75 crore after two days, and it is expected to wrap up the weekend with Rs. 4.50–5.00 crore nett at the Indian box office.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the pre-partition romantic drama has now amassed Rs. 51.75 crore nett in India. The film is on course to cross the Rs. 55 crore milestone by the end of its fourth week. Its momentum slowed slightly this week after surrendering screens to Alpha. However, with Alia Bhatt’s film reportedly receiving mixed-to-negative audience response, Main Vaapas Aaunga is expected to reclaim some of its lost screens in the coming days.
The romantic drama remains firmly on track to emerge as a successful theatrical venture. Based on current trends, the film has the potential to finish its run at around Rs. 65 crore nett, although its long-term performance will depend on how well it holds against several major releases scheduled over the next two weeks.
