Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam) continued its steady performance at the box office in its first week. Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the mythological romantic fantasy earned an estimated Rs. 1.10 crore on Day 7 (Thursday), taking its total first-week Hindi nett collection to approximately Rs. 11.65 crore.
Featuring Siddharth Gupta in the lead, the film is now eyeing a strong jump during its second weekend, which could push its total beyond the Rs. 15 crore mark. To maintain a long theatrical run, the movie will need to deliver a solid second-week performance comparable to its opening week numbers.
Last year’s Mahavatar Narsimha, an animated feature inspired by the avatars of Lord Vishnu, had opened with Rs. 1.25 crore nett before witnessing massive weekend growth with Rs. 3.25 crore on Saturday and Rs. 6.25 crore on Sunday. The film eventually emerged as a blockbuster with around Rs. 170 crore nett in Hindi. Unlike that animated success, Krishnavataram is a live-action adaptation centered on Lord Krishna and hasn’t shown a similar growth trajectory so far. However, films in this genre can often surprise at the box office. A similar trend was seen with Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahayate, which remained low in collections during its initial weeks before witnessing a sudden surge later in its run.
