Tamil film Jana Nayagan was released as Jana Neta in Hindi this weekend and has recorded a surprisingly strong opening at the Hindi box office.

Released on Thursday, July 23, the Thalapathy Vijay starrer opened with Rs. 1.65 crore nett on its first day. The film then registered a 12 percent jump on Day 2, collecting Rs. 1.85 crore, followed by another strong 35 percent growth on Day 3, which took its three-day total to Rs. 6 crore nett.
As per estimates, Jana Neta is expected to witness another rise on its fourth day, Sunday, and collect around Rs. 3 crore. This would take its extended four-day opening weekend total to approximately Rs. 9 crore nett at the Hindi box office.
These numbers are particularly impressive for a film that faced multiple delays and was also leaked online before its theatrical release.
The film is expected to conclude its first week with around Rs. 12–13 crore nett in Hindi. Its performance in the second week will determine how far it can go during its full theatrical run.
