Telugu film Irumudi enjoyed a phenomenal opening weekend at the Indian box office, earning approximately Rs. 56.75 crore. The Ravi Teja starrer also performed strongly overseas, collecting around USD 1.45 million (Rs. 13.75 crore). With this, the film’s worldwide opening-weekend gross has crossed the Rs. 70 crore mark. The figures also mark a career-best opening for Ravi Teja.
Irumudi Day-Wise Box Office Collections in India
| Day | Gross |
|---|---|
| Friday | Rs. 17.00 cr. |
| Saturday | Rs. 17.75 cr. |
| Sunday | Rs. 22.00 cr. |
| Total | Rs. 56.75 cr. |
Apart from the impressive numbers, Irumudi has also shown an excellent upward trend. Telugu films generally witness a drop on the second day, making Saturday growth particularly uncommon. Despite opening on a holiday, the film managed to improve its collections on Saturday and witnessed another major jump on Sunday, with the Telugu states recording nearly 25 per cent growth.
The film’s weekend haul in the Telugu states came close to the Rs. 50 crore mark. Given its strong start and positive trend, Irumudi is well placed to cross Rs. 100 crore in AP/TS and could potentially target a lifetime collection of around Rs. 150 crore. The film is already heading towards a BLOCKBUSTER verdict and could become the biggest hit of Ravi Teja’s career following a series of underperforming releases.
