Dhurandhar Box Office Collection: Ranveer Singh Film Smashes Second-Week Record in Just Five Days
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continues its historic run at the Indian box office, rewriting record books almost on a daily basis. The action-packed blockbuster has now set an all-time record for the biggest second-week collection for a Hindi film — and it has achieved this feat in just five days.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Dhurandhar recorded growth on its second Tuesday, collecting approximately ₹30 crore nett, despite not opting for any discount pricing. In recent times, Tuesday growth has largely been attributed to discounted ticket schemes, but Dhurandhar has defied that trend, proving that pure audience demand and strong word of mouth are driving its extraordinary performance.
Second Week Already a Record-Setter
At the end of 12 days, Dhurandhar’s India nett total stands at ₹391 crore, out of which a staggering ₹195 crore has come from just the first five days of the second week. This means the film has already surpassed the previous second-week record of ₹178 crore, held by Pushpa 2 (Hindi) — with two more days still left in the week.
Trade estimates now suggest that the full second week could close around ₹240 crore nett, further extending its dominance. This trend highlights a significant shift in modern box-office dynamics. While first-week records have remained largely unchanged since Jawan in 2023, second-week records have now been broken repeatedly — six times in the last three years alone.
New Daily Record for Hindi Cinema
With its massive Tuesday haul, Dhurandhar has also registered the biggest second Tuesday ever for a Hindi film. The film crushed the previous record of ₹17.50 crore nett, held by Chhaava, by an astonishing 65% margin.
When looking beyond Hindi cinema, Dhurandhar now ranks second in overall Indian box-office history for a second Tuesday, trailing only Baahubali: The Conclusion, which collected ₹39.25 crore across all languages. Given its current pace, industry insiders believe that even those long-standing records may soon be challenged.
Marching Towards ₹700 Crore Nett
Dhurandhar was already considered a sure-shot ₹600 crore nett film, making it the first original Hindi movie to reach that milestone. However, the film’s phenomenal hold has now brought the ₹700 crore nett mark firmly into play.
The next big target is ₹738 crore nett, the lifetime Hindi record set by Pushpa 2. What once seemed out of reach has now become a realistic possibility, though the film’s performance on the coming Friday — when it faces competition from Avatar 3 — will be crucial.
