Television’s beloved couple Jasmin Bhasin and Aly Goni may now be setting major relationship goals, but their love story wasn’t an instant fairytale. Although the two became fan favorites after Bigg Boss 14, Aly recently revealed that when Jasmin first confessed her feelings in 2018, he wasn’t ready to accept her proposal.
Aly Goni reveals why he declined Jasmin Bhasin’s proposal
While interacting with fellow contestants Ruhee Dosani and rapper Bali on the reality show Alliance, Aly reflected on how his relationship with Jasmin began after they met on Khatron Ke Khiladi 9.
When Ruhee asked who expressed their feelings first, Aly revealed, “Jasmin proposed to me on December 31, 2018.”
He surprised everyone by admitting that he turned her down at the time.
Sharing the reason behind his decision, Aly explained that he didn’t want to rush into a relationship unless he was completely certain about his emotions.
He said that many people enter relationships impulsively, only to realize later that their feelings have changed. Wanting to avoid that situation, he chose to take his time before committing to such an important decision.
However, Jasmin refused to give up. According to Aly, it took nearly two years of patience and persistence before he finally realized the depth of her feelings and accepted her love.
Speaking fondly about his partner, Aly said, “I believe marrying your best friend is one of the best decisions because that person truly knows every side of you.”
He further shared, “She always tells people, ‘It took me two years to convince him!’ She never gave up. She’s incredibly determined. While my attention was everywhere else, she remained completely focused on me. When I finally understood how genuine her love was, I thought, ‘I couldn’t ask for anyone better.'”
Today, the couple continues to be one of television’s most adored pairs, proving that sometimes the best love stories simply take time to blossom.
