Ram Charan and his wife, Upasana Konidela, were recently seen traveling to Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, reportedly in connection with the actor’s wrist surgery. The procedure has now reportedly been completed successfully, with the actor currently recuperating.
Ram Charan reportedly recovers after successful wrist surgery
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Ram Charan underwent a wrist operation at a private hospital in Coimbatore. The surgery is said to have been successful and was performed using a minimally invasive technique despite the complexity of the procedure.
With no complications reportedly arising during the surgery, the actor is now focusing on his recovery. However, Ram Charan and his team have not yet released an official confirmation about the procedure.
The actor is believed to have suffered the wrist injury while filming an action sequence for Peddi. Reports suggest that he postponed the surgery due to the film’s promotional commitments. After sustaining the injury during the shoot, he underwent a medical examination, following which doctors reportedly recommended surgery for proper healing and to avoid potential long-term issues.
Given the nature of the injury, reports further claim that a surgeon from the United States was flown in to carry out the procedure. Ram Charan is expected to follow a supervised rehabilitation programme before resuming his professional responsibilities.
More about Peddi
Ram Charan was recently seen in the lead role in Peddi. The film revolves around a talented athlete from a remote village in the Vizianagaram region whose ambitions go far beyond his own achievements. Set in 1994, the story follows Peddi, who participates in local cricket tournaments while sharing a close relationship with Appalasoori, an elder who dreams of bringing progress and recognition to their secluded village.
A devastating personal incident changes Peddi’s life, prompting him to move away from cricket and take up wrestling. However, a serious injury brings his sporting career to an end and forces him to choose a new direction. Determined not to surrender to his circumstances, he eventually reinvents himself as a para-athlete and rises to national prominence.
Using his success as a platform, Peddi draws attention to the challenges faced by his village and helps bring much-needed development and recognition to the community, while keeping Appalasoori’s legacy alive.
The film also features Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu, Jagapathi Babu, and other prominent actors in important roles. Peddi is currently available to stream on OTT platforms.
Ram Charan is next expected to reunite with filmmaker Sukumar for a new project tentatively titled RC17.
