Vrushakarma, starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead, is one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year. Directed by Virupaksha filmmaker Karthik Varma Dandu, the mythological action-adventure has already secured a lucrative non-theatrical deal ahead of its theatrical release.
Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma bags Rs 48 crore satellite and OTT deal
The makers of Vrushakarma have officially announced that the film’s satellite and OTT rights have been acquired by the Zee Network. According to the update, the combined non-theatrical rights have been sold for a whopping Rs 48 crore, highlighting the strong anticipation surrounding the project.
The film stars Naga Chaitanya as a fearless adventurer, with the previously released glimpse hinting at an intriguing blend of mythology, horror, mystery, and action. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the female lead, while the film is being mounted on a grand scale as a mystical action-adventure entertainer.
The supporting cast includes Sparsh Shrivastava as the primary antagonist, alongside Jayaram and Zarina Wahab in pivotal roles. Although the release date is yet to be officially announced, the film is expected to hit cinemas during the Dussehra 2026 festive season.
Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, Vrushakarma is jointly produced by BVSN Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar under Sukumar Writings. The story has been penned by Sukumar, while Neil D’Cunha handles cinematography, B. Ajaneesh Loknath composes the music, and Naveen Nooli is in charge of editing.
Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming projects
Naga Chaitanya was last seen in the romantic action drama Thandel, which revolved around Raju, a fisherman who accidentally crosses into Pakistani waters. Inspired by real-life events involving a fisherman from Srikakulam, the film explored themes of love, resilience, and survival.
The movie featured Sai Pallavi as the female lead, with Aadukalam Naren, Divya Pillai, Karunakaran, Kalpa Latha, and Babloo Prithiveeraj in supporting roles. Thandel is currently streaming on Netflix.
Up next, the actor is filming Dhootha Season 2, created by Vikram Kumar. The mystery thriller recently began production with a traditional pooja ceremony. Priya Bhavani Shankar and Parvathy Thiruvothu are returning for the second season, which also marks Naga Chaitanya’s debut as a producer.
