AK64, starring Ajith Kumar in the lead, marks the actor’s second collaboration with director Adhik Ravichandran. While the film is currently in the pre-production stage, fresh reports indicate that actress Kayadu Lohar is being considered for a key role.

Kayadu Lohar likely to join Ajith Kumar’s AK64?

According to a report by Valai Pechu, the makers are in discussions with Kayadu Lohar to come on board AK64. It is yet to be determined whether she will play the female lead or a significant supporting character. The report also claims that the project is still in its early stages, with the team deciding whether Ajith Kumar will produce the film himself or collaborate with another production house.

As of now, neither the makers nor the cast have officially confirmed the development.

Earlier, director Adhik Ravichandran had announced that his next film would reunite him with Ajith Kumar after Good Bad Ugly. Unlike their previous action-packed outing, the upcoming project is said to be a family entertainer aimed at appealing to a broader audience. Reports also suggest that the filmmaker has planned several surprises for fans.

The film was initially expected to commence production in early 2026. However, after the producer reportedly exited the project, filming was delayed. Recent industry buzz indicates that Ajith Kumar may now back the venture himself, while Anirudh Ravichander is reportedly the frontrunner to compose the music.

Ajith Kumar and Kayadu Lohar’s upcoming projects

Ajith Kumar was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran. The action drama revolved around AK, also known as Red Dragon, a former underworld kingpin who leaves his criminal life behind after becoming a father. Following an 18-year prison term, he discovers that his son has been falsely accused in a criminal case, forcing him to return to his old ways to uncover the truth and protect his family.

The film also featured Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, and Shine Tom Chacko in pivotal roles.

Kayadu Lohar, meanwhile, was most recently seen opposite Atharvaa Murali in Idhayam Murali. She has an exciting lineup ahead with films including Immortal, The Paradise, I’m Game, and several other projects currently in various stages of production.
