Welcome To The Jungle

Welcome To The Jungle collected Rs. 6 crore on its first Wednesday, registering a 35 per cent drop from the previous day. The comedy drama, directed by Ahmed Khan, took its entire box office cume to Rs. 87 crore nett at the Indian box office.

The drop is a bit excessive. A Rs. 7 crore day would have been ideal but this isn’t the end of world if the film could sustain well on the next two days. The movie is expected to close its first week around Rs. 95 crore or so, and then it will march towards the Rs. 100 crore nett mark.

The Akshay Kumar film is almost certainly a success; whether it goes on to be a HIT will depend on how well the second and third week holds will be, particularly the third week when it faces Dhamaal 4, another successful comedy franchise. Akshay’s previous release, Bhooth Bangla, added Rs. 49 crore nett after the second week. If Welcome to the Jungle manages that, it will likely be a HIT.

The Day Wise Box Office Collections of Welcome to the Jungle in India are as follows:
Day Nett
Previews Rs. 3.75 cr.
Friday Rs. 15.25 cr.
Saturday Rs. 20.50 cr.
Sunday Rs. 24.25 cr.
Monday Rs. 8.25 cr.
Tuesday Rs. 9.00 cr.
