Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, recorded a good hold on its 2nd Friday. The movie remained steady and added Rs. 3.50 crore to the tally, bringing the total cume to Rs. 67.50 crore nett at the Indian box office. On face value, it is a good total, but this includes external push, which is why its numbers should be taken with an asterisk. If there were no support from outside factors, the real collections would have been much lower but honest.
The Shahid Kapoor movie is expected to add around Rs. 11 crore to 14 crore in its second weekend, which will take the total cume over the Rs. 75 crore mark. From there, it will need Rs. 25 crore more to reach the Rs. 100 crore mark, which will not be easy, because of back-to-back significant releases.
The original film was released in 2012, and it collected around Rs. 74.50 crore nett and emerged as a Clean Hit venture. Though the sequel will cross this figure, it will end up much lower if the OG collections are adjusted for inflation.
Day-wise Box Office Collections of Cocktail 2 are as follows:
