Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai collected Rs. 2.25 crore on its second Saturday, recording a 20 per cent spike over Friday and nearly 70 per cent drop on week-on-week comparison. The Varun Dhawan starrer took its 9-day theatrical run to Rs. 40 crore nett at the Indian box office.
Directed by David Dhawan, the comedy drama is looking to wind up its second weekend, taking its running cume to Rs. 43 crore or so. The movie is facing a couple of new Bollywood and Hollywood releases, but its biggest competition remains Obsession.
Co-starring Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Mouni Roy, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, and others, the movie is following the trajectory of Varun Dhawan’s previous film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which netted around Rs. 60 crore in its full run. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is expected to exceed Rs. 50 crore mark in its full run.
