Pati Patni Aur Woh Do witnessed a noticeable jump at the box office on its second Tuesday, collecting an estimated Rs. 1.25 crore nett. The film registered a 20 percent increase compared to Monday’s numbers, taking its second-week total to Rs. 9.25 crore in five days.
The romantic comedy, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Sara Ali Khan, is now expected to finish its second week with collections in the range of Rs. 11–12 crore nett. Its current cumulative total stands at Rs. 37.25 crore, and the movie is likely to cross the Rs. 40 crore mark before completing two weeks in theatres.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film is projected to conclude its theatrical run near the Rs. 50 crore mark. While this may help improve its overall box office standing after a slow start, trade observers note that some of the earnings reportedly include “feedings,” meaning the final numbers may need to be viewed with caution.
The post-2020 theatrical landscape has proven challenging for small-town comedies and mid-budget entertainers. Back in 2018 and 2019, this genre enjoyed a successful run with several crowd-pleasing hits, including Pati Patni Aur Woh. During that phase, Ayushmann Khurrana became one of the leading stars of the genre with multiple consecutive box office successes. Trade experts believe that if Pati Patni Aur Woh Do had arrived in the pre-pandemic era, its commercial performance could have been significantly stronger.
