Chand Mera Dil wrapped its first weekend at Rs. 10.25 crore nett at the Indian box office, with Rs. 4 crore coming on Sunday. That’s a 10-12 per cent jump from Saturday. So far, the movie closed its opening weekend on an underwhelming note. However, there is a holiday on Tuesday, which may keep collection somewhat steady on Monday and Tuesday, but after that, it can be tough for the film to sail through a successful run, if it didn’t show the much-needed trends.
Starring Lakshya and Ananya Panday in the lead, the romantic drama needs to hold strong on Monday, around the Rs 1.75 crore mark, to have a chance of recording a run of sorts over the next two weeks until the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Peddi, and Bandar on June 5.
Small and mid-sized movies, especially in this genre, have suffered in the post-pandemic times. However, there were a few exceptions like Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which were big hits at the box office. It will be interesting to see whether Chand Mera Dil can show some strong legs ahead or not.
Day-wise box office collections of Chand Mera Dil are as follows:
Day Box Office
1 Rs. 2.75 crore
2 Rs. 3.50 crore
3 Rs. 4.00 crore
Total Rs. 10.25 crore
For the unversed, Chand Mera Dil is helmed by Vivek Soni, who previously directed Aap Jaisa Koi for Dharma Productions. The movie garnered mixed word-of-mouth among the audience, with praises for its performances and music.
