Pati Patni Aur Woh Do added Rs. 3.25 crore on its second Sunday, recording a spike of over 20 per cent from Saturday. The drop from the previous Sunday is pretty significant, around 60 per cent. The movie took its second weekend’s cume to Rs. 8 crore, bringing the total box office collections to the Rs. 35 crore mark.
The trend is good, but the problem is that it’s coming at a low level of business, which isn’t taking it anywhere. Still, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is going to go over Rs. 40 crore and probably even Rs. 50 crore, which isn’t anything game-changing but somewhat face-saving after a dismal start. There is some amount of feeding there, so even that is to be taken with a sterisk.
The post-pandemic era has been particularly unforgiving for small and mid-budget small-town comedies. Before the pandemic, especially during 2018-2019, this space was thriving with a plethora of hit films, including Pati Patni Aur Woh. Ayushmann Khurrana was at the forefront of this trend, delivering multiple back-to-back hits that also opened well at the box office. Had this film been released in 2020, it likely would have opened three to five times higher than its current numbers.
The Day-wise Box Office Collections of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do are as follows:
Day Nett
Week 1 Rs. 28.00 cr.
2nd Friday Rs. 1.25 cr.
2nd Saturday Rs. 2.50 cr.
2nd Sunday Rs. 3.25 cr.
Total Rs. 35 cr.
