Raja Shivaji maintained a good hold at the Indian box office. The historical epic drama collected Rs. 1.50 crore on its third Friday, registering a 15 per cent drop from the previous day. The drop from the previous Friday is around Rs. 60 per cent. The movie took its running cume to Rs. 91 crore gross at the Indian box office. It is expected to see a good spike today and tomorrow, and close its third weekend on a promising note, somewhere around Rs. 96 crore or so. The epic saga will surpass the Rs. 100 crore mark in its third week, possibly by Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how far the movie can go from there on.
It will be the first time for a Marathi film. Earlier, Sairat and Baipan Bhari Deva came very close to this milestone, but couldn’t achieve it. Notably, those two had just the Marathi version, with almost all of their business coming from Maharashtra, while Raja Shivaji has a Hindi-dubbed version and a good amount of business outside Maharashtra.
