Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart earns Rs. 7 crore in India during opening weekend, shows strong growth trend

Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart recorded a strong upward trend over its opening weekend, collecting approximately Rs. 6.75 crore nett in Hindi markets, with the Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions adding another Rs. 50 lakh nett to the total.

The film earned around Rs. 3.25 crore nett on Sunday alone, showing a healthy 50 percent jump from Saturday’s collections. Despite releasing on a relatively limited scale of nearly 700 screens, the mythological drama managed to generate encouraging momentum at the box office.

While the overall numbers are respectable considering the release size, the film reportedly carries high production costs, making long-term performance crucial. However, what has particularly stood out is the steady growth pattern across the weekend. After doubling its collections on Saturday, the film continued to climb sharply on Sunday, with occupancy levels especially strong in Mumbai and several Southern circuits.

The performance has drawn comparisons with last year’s Mahavatar Narsimha, an animated feature based on two avatars of Lord Vishnu. That film opened modestly before witnessing explosive weekend growth and eventually emerged as a massive success with nearly Rs. 170 crore nett in Hindi.

Unlike Mahavatar Narsimha, Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart is a live-action adaptation centered on Lord Krishna’s avatar. Although its initial trend is slightly less aggressive, mythological films often show unpredictable box office patterns, leaving room for significant growth in the coming weeks. Industry observers also recall the surprising trajectory of Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahayate, which remained quiet initially before witnessing a major surge later in its theatrical run.

For now, the key target for the film will be maintaining weekday collections close to Saturday’s levels and aiming for wider expansion during the second week.
