Fourteen years after Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty brought a fresh perspective to modern relationships with Cocktail, director Homi Adajania is back with a new chapter. This time, Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna step into the spotlight, promising a blend of romance, friendship, and emotional chaos. The trailer for Cocktail 2 has finally been unveiled.

Cocktail 2 Trailer Released

Following the success of its chart-topping soundtrack, Maddock Films and Luv Films have launched the much-awaited trailer of Cocktail 2. Helmed by Homi Adajania, the film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.

Staying true to the spirit of the original, the trailer hints at a rollercoaster of emotions, relationship drama, and lighthearted moments, all wrapped in a contemporary setting.

What stands out in the trailer

The story revolves around Kunal (Shahid Kapoor), Diya (Rashmika Mandanna), and Ally (Kriti Sanon). Their carefree and enjoyable bond gradually turns complicated as feelings get involved, leading to a tangled romantic situation.

One of the trailer’s strongest points is the chemistry between Shahid and Kriti, who reunite after the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Their interactions bring energy to the screen, while the nostalgic use of Tum Hi Ho Bandhu adds to the film’s appeal.

What could have been better

While the trailer excels in style, fashion, music, and a youthful Gen-Z atmosphere, it appears to lack some of the emotional depth and realism that made the 2012 film memorable.

Interestingly, the friendship and on-screen rapport between Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna emerge as one of the highlights. Their dynamic feels more compelling than their individual romantic arcs with Shahid’s character, who becomes the catalyst for the unfolding turmoil.

The film seems to delve into the complexities of modern relationships, exploring themes of love, commitment, and the blurred boundaries between friendship and romance.

With music composed by Pritam, whose work played a major role in the success of the original Cocktail, the sequel carries a strong sense of nostalgia while attempting to create its own identity.

Cocktail 2 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 19, 2026.
