Chitrangada Singh has spoken out about her experience working with Salman Khan in Maatrubhumi, pushing back against long-standing rumors about his professionalism on set.
Chitrangada Singh addresses rumors
During a conversation at an NDTV Yuva event, Chitrangada shared that she had heard several negative claims about Salman before working with him. People had warned her about delayed schedules and suggested he might not be punctual. However, she said her actual experience was completely different, calling him “amazing” and dismissing those perceptions.
She emphasized that Salman treated everyone on set with warmth and respect, not just the lead cast but also crew members. According to her, he would go out of his way to check if even the most junior staff—like lightmen or assistant directors—had eaten or received proper breaks. She noted that despite his long career, he remains attentive and grounded.
Interestingly, she also countered the punctuality criticism directly, mentioning that he showed up early on days when she had early shoots, contradicting what she had been told beforehand.
About Maatrubhumi
Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan under Salman Khan Films, is a war drama inspired by real-life events from the Galwan Valley clash. Salman plays an Indian Army Colonel, while Chitrangada essays the role of his wife.
Salman Khan’s upcoming project
Up next, Salman will appear in a big-budget action film tentatively titled SVC63, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film, which also stars Nayanthara, is expected to release around Eid 2027 and is currently in production.
Overall, Chitrangada’s remarks offer a contrasting perspective to the long-circulated narrative about Salman Khan, highlighting a more disciplined and considerate side of the actor.
