Dhurandhar: The Revenge Box Office – Ranveer Singh Starrer Pulls in ₹8 Crore from Paid Previews in First 24 Hours

The advance bookings for Dhurandhar: The Revenge kicked off yesterday, and the response has been phenomenal. In the first 24 hours of sales, the film sold over 1.75 lakh tickets at the Indian box office, racking up nearly ₹8 crore nett.

The strongest interest came from bigger cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, which typically drive advance sales. While smaller towns usually generate fewer pre-sales—especially for early or unconventional previews—the fact that even these centres contributed shows the film’s massive buzz and the potential for even bigger numbers when full advance bookings open.

Multiplex Chains Lead the Charge

Two major national cinema chains, PVRINOX and Cinepolis, accounted for over 75% of the revenue, selling around 1.25 lakh tickets.

Although these are paid previews and not the official opening day, the numbers are already impressive. For context, Ranveer Singh’s Jawan sold 1.55 lakh tickets in its first 24 hours of advance bookings. However, unlike Jawan, which opened pre-sales just five days before release, Dhurandhar has eleven days to go, making its strong early numbers even more remarkable.

It’s not a direct comparison, but the figures highlight the film’s strong pre-release momentum.

Second Highest Previews Ever for a Bollywood Film

The paid previews of Dhurandhar: The Revenge already rank second-highest ever for a Bollywood film, just behind Stree 2, which had ₹8.75 crore nett in previews. Given the current pace, Dhurandhar is expected to surpass that figure within a day or two.

Currently, the film has over 6,000 shows on sale, and this number is expected to rise to 8,000–10,000 shows, with a capacity value of around ₹50 crore nett, potentially going up to ₹60–70 crore nett. With premium pricing applied to these previews—ranging 25–75% above standard ticket rates depending on location—the film is expected to comfortably cross ₹30–40 crore nett even before the full weekend begins.

Full Weekend Bookings Yet to Open

The rest of the weekend’s bookings have not yet been opened. The strategy is to maximize revenue from paid previews first, given their premium pricing and high demand. Some cinemas even started selling tickets ahead of schedule, and the remaining bookings are expected to go live between Monday and Wednesday.

Industry insiders predict that Dhurandhar will break all previous pre-sales records, setting new benchmarks for advance bookings in Bollywood.

Note on Box Office Figures

Reports mentioning ₹11–12 crore for previews are not actual collections but scraped data from ticketing platforms like BookMyShow. These numbers often include blocked seats, which are reserved by theatres and not yet sold. Such seats may be held for direct box office sales or other obligations and typically release shortly before the show begins. This is especially true in single-screen theatres, which block a larger number of seats than multiplexes.
