Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos Struggles at Box Office, Adds Just ₹35 Lakh in Second Weekend
Aamir Khan Productions’ latest venture, Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos, continues to face a rough ride at the box office. The spy comedy drama, starring Vir Das and directed by Das alongside Kavi Shastri, managed to add only ₹35 lakh in its second weekend, as it battled Sunny Deol’s Border 2, which continues to dominate theatres.
With this, the film’s total Indian box office collection now stands at around ₹5.15 crore net, and current trends suggest it might end its theatrical run near ₹5.50 crore net. The numbers indicate that audiences have largely rejected the movie, and had the film opened to positive word-of-mouth, the outcome could have been different.
Box Office Snapshot – Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos
Week 1: ₹4.80 crore
Second Weekend: ₹0.35 crore
Total: ₹5.15 crore net
The film, a quirky spy comedy, features Vir Das in the lead, with a supporting cast that includes Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, and Sharib Hashmi. Fans were also treated to special appearances by Imran Khan and Aamir Khan.
Despite its theatrical struggles, the movie is expected to find a second life on digital platforms, possibly on Aamir Khan’s YouTube channel, similar to Sitaare Zameen Par. While there’s no official confirmation yet, digital release could help it reach audiences who missed it in theatres.
At the end of the day, Happy Patel serves as a reminder that even big names and quirky concepts can struggle if the story and word-of-mouth don’t click with audiences.
