Karishma Tanna and her husband Varun Bangera have finally shared the name of their first child. The couple introduced their baby boy as Ved Tanna Bangera on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, more than a month after his birth.

Karishma and Varun announced their son’s name through a joint social media post on September 4. Sharing a personalised post featuring his name, the couple called their little one a “miracle” and also explained the significance of his name.
“On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, with Kanha’s blessings, we lovingly introduce our little miracle… VED TANNA BANGERA. A name that means sacred knowledge, wisdom and light. With all our love, Karishma & Varun,” the couple wrote.
The announcement comes weeks after Karishma and Varun welcomed their son on July 29, 2026, on the occasion of Guru Purnima. At the time, the actress had highlighted the special significance of the day. The couple had decided to keep their baby’s name under wraps until this latest announcement.
What is the meaning of Ved?
Ved comes from the Sanskrit term “Veda” and is closely linked to the ancient sacred scriptures of India. The name is associated with knowledge and wisdom, while Karishma and Varun have described it as symbolising “sacred knowledge, wisdom and light.”
Karishma announced her pregnancy on April 6, 2026, and had occasionally offered fans glimpses of her journey. Ved is the first child of Karishma and Varun, who got married in an intimate Mumbai ceremony on February 5, 2022.

Karishma began her television journey with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 2001 and has since worked across television, films and OTT projects. She is now gearing up for Mom 2, where she will share the screen with Khushi Kapoor.
