Bollywood star Alia Bhatt may soon have bridesmaid responsibilities as her longtime friend, actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, is reportedly preparing to tie the knot with filmmaker Sharan Sharma.

After making her mark as an actress, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is reportedly ready to embark on a new chapter in her personal life. Reports suggest that Alia Bhatt’s childhood friend will soon exchange wedding vows with director Sharan Sharma.
Sharan Sharma is a recognized name in the Hindi film industry. He made his directorial debut with Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and later directed the sports drama Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. Prior to becoming a director, he worked as an assistant and creative collaborator on films such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
As per a report by Hindustan Times, a source revealed, “Akansha and Sharan are scheduled to get married on July 11, while the wedding reception will take place on July 12. The reception is expected to be hosted by the groom’s family in Juhu.”
The wedding celebrations are expected to remain intimate, with only close friends and family members in attendance. Reports further suggest that no printed invitations have been issued. A larger reception gathering is reportedly planned for July 12, 2026, at Mumbai’s JW Marriott hotel.
Who is Akansha Ranjan Kapoor?
Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is an actress who has gradually established herself in the entertainment industry through a variety of projects. She is the daughter of actor-director Shashi Ranjan and Anu Ranjan, and the younger sister of actress Anushka Ranjan. Despite coming from a film-connected family, Akansha has built her career through her own efforts.
Apart from her acting career, she is widely known for her close friendship with Alia Bhatt. The two have shared a strong bond since their school years and are often seen spending time together, traveling, and celebrating important moments in each other’s lives.
Akansha made her acting debut in 2020 with Guilty, where she starred alongside Kiara Advani and received appreciation for her performance. She later featured in Vasan Bala’s acclaimed thriller Monica, O My Darling, sharing screen space with Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Radhika Apte.
