Gopichand has officially announced his 33rd film, now titled BharataVarsha: Saga of Shula. Directed by Sankalp, the movie is being positioned as a powerful and intense saga set in a glorious ancient era.

Previously referred to as Gopichand 33, the film has now been officially named BharataVarsha: Saga of Shula. The makers recently unveiled a glimpse on social media, offering a sneak peek into this ambitious period action drama.
The film aims to bring to life a forgotten chapter from Indian history, combining scale, emotion, and high-octane action into a grand cinematic experience. Sharing the announcement, the team wrote, “An age of glory… A land of legends… A story buried in time… Now… it rises.”
The ensemble cast includes Ritu Varma, Vinod Kumar, Gavi Chahal, Thanikella Bharani, Rakesh Varre, Bharath Reddy, Chatrapathi Sekhar, Ravi Varma, Kishore, Karthikeya, and Madhumani in key roles.
The film’s music is composed by Anudeep Dev, while cinematography is handled by Soundar Rajan S. Editing duties are taken care of by Chota K Prasad, with dialogues written by Tilak Nimmala. The release date is yet to be announced.
Gopichand’s previous outing
On the work front, Gopichand was last seen in Viswam, directed by Sreenu Vaitla. The action-comedy follows an officer who disguises himself as a taxi driver to protect a young girl who becomes a witness to a terrorist plot.
Co-starring Kavya Thapar, the film also featured Jisshu Sengupta, Brahmanandam, Sunil, Naresh, and Shaam in important roles. It received mixed reviews and had an average run at the box office, and is currently available for streaming on Aha.
