Following the release of Peddi, Janhvi Kapoor is taking a measured approach while choosing her next project. The actress is in serious talks for a high-concept creature horror film, a genre she has yet to explore in her career.
Sources reveal that acclaimed filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve, who earned widespread praise for Tumbbad, is attached to direct the project. Backed by Jio Studios, the film is envisioned as a large-scale creature horror spectacle.
According to an insider, “Janhvi Kapoor has been evaluating multiple scripts and discussing several opportunities for her next feature. Among them, Rahi Anil Barve’s creature horror film has particularly caught her attention. The groundwork for the project has already begun, and the team is aiming to commence filming before the end of the year.”
The source further shared, “The character is unlike anything Janhvi has attempted before and requires significant preparation. She is likely to come on board officially soon. Once the deal is finalized, she will participate in extensive workshops and training sessions to fully understand the character and immerse herself in the film’s unique world.”
Considering the strong reputation Barve built with Tumbbad, the project has already generated considerable excitement. If all goes according to plan, the film will enter production later this year and could become one of the most distinctive additions to Janhvi Kapoor’s body of work.
