Akshay Kumar remains one of the most active actors in the Indian film industry. After scoring a clean hit with his first release of 2026, Bhooth Bangla, the actor quickly moved on to shooting his next entertainer directed by Anees Bazmee. Amid his packed schedule, he also took some time to focus on his health.
According to Hindustan Times, Akshay underwent an eye procedure in Mumbai on May 6. Following the surgery, the actor is expected to take a brief break from work. A source revealed to the publication, “It was a minor procedure carried out on the morning of Wednesday, May 6, for vision correction. Akshay will now rest and recover, especially since he has recently wrapped up the Keralam schedule of his upcoming film with Anees, which also features Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna.”
Just a day earlier, the actor had announced the completion of the Keralam schedule for the untitled family comedy through his social media accounts. Sharing a cheerful picture alongside Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna, Akshay wrote, “Keralam schedule wrapped! There’s nothing better than working with wonderful people in such a beautiful location. Much love to our director Anees Bazmee for all the fun behind the camera, and to my amazing co-stars @vidya_balan, Raashii, Chota Rajpal, and the entire crew. This project has truly been special.”
While the untitled comedy with Anees Bazmee is already progressing steadily, Akshay Kumar will next appear in Ahmed Khan’s Welcome To The Jungle, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 26, 2026. He also has Haiwaan lined up, co-starring Saif Ali Khan. Although the makers have not yet confirmed its release date, the film is expected to arrive in theatres towards the end of 2026. Fans will now be eager to see how both upcoming projects perform at the box office.
