Lenin, starring Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse in the lead roles, is an upcoming action drama that was initially slated for release on June 26, 2026. However, the makers have now officially confirmed that the film’s release has been postponed.

In a recent post on social media, Nagarjuna Akkineni officially announced that Lenin has been postponed and will now release on July 10, 2026. The actor-producer wrote, “Team Lenin came to me with a request. They asked for a little more time to give their absolute 100% and create something very special. Their passion and spirit made me say yes. Our guy is arriving on July 10. I say it again, you will see a new Akhil!! Get ready for the Lenin experience.”
Reportedly, the visual effects work and final editing are still underway, with the makers taking additional time to complete them. The film is set against the backdrop of a village and explores intense family conflicts and power struggles, ultimately addressing the serious social issue of honour. It also incorporates an intense love story.
Initially, Sreeleela was cast as the female lead, and the makers had even unveiled a glimpse featuring her. However, due to reported scheduling conflicts with her other projects, the actress opted out of the film, with Bhagyashri Borse stepping into the role.
Earlier, Lenin was slated for release on May 1, 2026. However, the makers later postponed it to June 26 to avoid a box office clash with Ram Charan’s Peddi, which was initially scheduled to release on the same date. Interestingly, the Charan starrer was later postponed to June 4 as well.
Nagarjuna and Akhil Akkineni’s work front
Akhil Akkineni was last seen in a lead role alongside Mammootty in the action drama Agent. The film underperformed at the box office and received negative reviews upon its release.
On the other hand, Nagarjuna Akkineni was last seen playing the main antagonist in the action entertainer Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. Now, the veteran star is set to play the lead role in the tentatively titled King100, marking another major project on the big screen.
