Akanksha Chamola Opens Up About Separation from Gaurav Khanna
During a conversation with host Farah Khan on Lock Upp 2, Akanksha Chamola revealed that she and Gaurav Khanna have mutually chosen to part ways.
Speaking candidly, she said, “Gaurav Khanna and I have decided to part ways. We have been living separately for the past one year. People don’t know about this yet.”
She further explained that the decision was not made overnight but came after months of discussions between the two.
“This is a decision we have both taken. We have been talking about it for the past one year,” she added.
Akanksha also clarified that there is no animosity between them despite their separation. According to the actress, they continue to share a cordial relationship but realized that they have different aspirations in life.
“There is nothing bad between Gaurav and me. We still talk to each other, but we feel that we are not right for each other as partners because we both want different things in life,” she shared.
The actress went on to reveal that both families had encouraged them to spend time apart in the hope that the distance might help them reassess their relationship, particularly after Gaurav’s stint on Bigg Boss 19.
“Everything started after Bigg Boss 19. Both our parents suggested that we live separately for some time. Sometimes, being apart helps people understand each other’s importance,” Akanksha said.
However, she admitted that despite remaining on good terms, the emotional connection they once shared as a couple could not be rekindled.
“People assumed we’d get back together because we continued talking, appeared together on social media, and supported each other at events. But we no longer feel like a couple,” she concluded.
For those unfamiliar, Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola tied the knot in 2016 after dating for several years. During his time on Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav had spoken openly about wanting to become a father while revealing that Akanksha wasn’t ready for motherhood, adding that he respected her decision.
