In Bollywood, few relationships have stood the test of time like the one shared by filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s family. Having choreographed several of SRK’s most memorable songs over the years, Farah has now collaborated with his son, Aryan Khan, on his directorial debut, calling it a truly “full-circle” moment.
Farah Khan on Working with Aryan Khan in Ghafoor
During her appearance on the latest episode of Shekhar Tonite, hosted by Shekhar Suman, Farah Khan reflected on an emotional milestone in her career. The filmmaker revealed that she recently choreographed Ghafoor, a special high-energy song from Aryan Khan’s much-awaited directorial debut series, The Ba**ds of Bollywood.
Sharing her excitement, Farah spoke fondly about the experience of working with the next generation of the Khan family. Talking about the Tamannaah Bhatia-led track, she said,
“I recently did Ghafoor with Tamannaah, and she loved it. I started with SRK, and now I’ve choreographed for Aryan’s directorial. I am very happy that the circle is completed.”
Farah’s association with Shah Rukh Khan dates back several decades. Apart from making her directorial debut with him in Main Hoon Na (2004), she has choreographed some of his most celebrated songs, including Chaiyya Chaiyya and Dard-e-Disco. Collaborating on Aryan Khan’s first directorial venture, therefore, marked a significant moment in her long-standing journey with the family.
The song Ghafoor is composed by Shashwat Sachdev and sung by Shilpa Rao and Ujwal Gupta. Featuring Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead, the energetic number also includes veteran actors Ranjeet, Shakti Kapoor, and Gulshan Grover. Farah shared that Tamannaah was delighted with the choreography and thoroughly enjoyed shooting the song.
While Shah Rukh Khan continues to dominate the screen as an actor, Aryan Khan has chosen to make his mark behind the camera. Produced by Gauri Khan under the Red Chillies Entertainment banner, The Ba**ds of Bollywood marks Aryan’s official directorial debut. The satirical comedy-drama stars Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Mona Singh, and several other actors in pivotal roles.
