Karan Kundrra recently addressed the criticism he faced after revealing that he had spoken to his parents before proposing to Tejasswi Prakash. While many fans appreciated his gesture, some social media users questioned why he felt the need to consult his family before taking such a personal step.
Speaking during a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on YouTube, Karan explained that discussing important life decisions with family members is a natural part of his upbringing.
He said that if someone does not seek guidance from their parents or siblings, it raises the question of whom they should turn to for advice. According to him, consulting loved ones should not be mistaken for dependence but rather viewed as a sign of respect and strong family values.
“Family remains important”
The actor emphasized that the arrival of a life partner does not diminish the importance of parents in one’s life. He expressed disappointment over the backlash and stated that seeking his family’s opinion before making a life-changing decision felt completely normal to him.
Karan also responded to critics who believed he should have made the decision independently. He questioned why discussing such matters with parents had become controversial and suggested that family involvement in major decisions remains a common cultural value.
Tejasswi had no objections
Addressing the issue further, Karan clarified that Tejasswi herself had no problem with him discussing the proposal with his family. He added that most of the criticism came from strangers online rather than from people directly involved in the relationship.
The couple’s journey was recently featured in Desi Bling, where viewers got to witness Karan’s surprise proposal in Dubai. While the engagement has been confirmed, the two have yet to reveal any details regarding their wedding plans.
