Speaking about his friendship with his ’83 co-star Ranveer Singh during a conversation with Connect Cine, Ammy Virk shared an emotional anecdote from a pivotal moment in the actor’s career.
According to Ammy, the phenomenal success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar franchise coincided with the birth of Ranveer and Deepika’s daughter, Dua, making the timing feel especially meaningful.
Before Dhurandhar emerged as a box-office sensation, Ranveer was reportedly facing a challenging phase professionally. The ambitious action film was a project he believed in deeply and had invested immense effort and faith into.
Recalling a conversation after the trailer launch of the first Dhurandhar film, Ammy said, “I congratulated him when the trailer was released. By then, his daughter had already been born. He sent me a lengthy message saying he had put everything into the film. I told him to be patient and that his daughter had brought good fortune into his life. I also told him that God would be kind to him. And that’s exactly how things turned out.”
Success continued with the sequel
The success story did not end with the first installment. Dhurandhar: The Revenge also performed exceptionally well, further strengthening Ammy’s belief that Dua’s arrival had ushered in a fortunate chapter for Ranveer.
Reflecting on another conversation with the actor, the Khel Khel Mein star said, “I reminded him that his daughter had brought him immense luck. Children come with their own blessings and destiny. The sequel was also a huge success, and he was extremely happy.”
