Maa Inti Bangaaram: Were the Makers Initially Planning to Cast Sai Pallavi Instead of Samantha Ruth Prabhu?

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is gearing up for her return to the silver screen with the action-thriller Maa Inti Bangaaram after taking a brief break from films. Interestingly, the actress recently revealed that the project was originally envisioned with Sai Pallavi in mind before eventually being adapted for her.

Samantha says Sai Pallavi was the initial choice for Maa Inti Bangaaram

During an interactive session with fans on Instagram, Samantha shared that the film was first planned as a potential project for Sai Pallavi. She explained that the vision behind her production banner, Tralala Moving Pictures, is to back stories centered around strong female characters.

According to Samantha, the makers initially hoped to approach Sai Pallavi for the lead role. However, due to the latter’s packed schedule and professional commitments, the plan could not move forward. The team subsequently reworked the script to suit Samantha, who ultimately came on board as the film’s leading lady.

The actress also tagged Sai Pallavi while sharing the anecdote and expressed her desire to collaborate with her in the future under the Tralala banner.

Samantha addresses release date speculation

The actress also responded to rumors surrounding the film’s release schedule. When asked whether Maa Inti Bangaaram might be postponed from its announced June 19, 2026 release date, Samantha dismissed the speculation and confirmed that the team is currently working towards releasing the film as planned.

Maa Inti Bangaaram features Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the central role and marks another significant project for the actress as a producer. The film is jointly produced by Samantha, Raj Nidimoru, and Himank Reddy Duvvuru under the banner of Tralala Moving Pictures.

The cast also includes Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale in prominent roles, alongside Gautami Tadimalla, Sreemukhi, Manjusha, Srinivas Gavireddy, and several others.

The music and background score have been composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while Om Prakash ISC handles cinematography duties. The film has been created and co-written by Raj Nidimoru and Vasanth Maringanti, with Prahas Boppudi contributing to the screenplay. Editing is handled by Dharmendra Kakarala.

Samantha’s upcoming projects

Apart from Maa Inti Bangaaram, Samantha is also set to headline the upcoming web series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom. The fantasy drama features Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles and is created by Raj & DK, with direction by Rahi Anil Barve.
