Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is an upcoming period action entertainer starring Yash in the lead role. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film was recently the subject of reports claiming that it might undergo reshoots. Now, it appears that the makers have dismissed those claims.

Is Yash’s Toxic heading to reshoots?

A recent report by Valai Pechu had circulated online, which suggested that Yash’s Toxic was set to undergo reshoots and that its release had been pushed to 2027. However, according to an update shared by Christopher Kanagaraj, the makers have seemingly rejected these claims.

That said, this remains speculative for now, as no official update regarding the film’s release has been announced. Moreover, it is also being reported that the movie’s OTT deal has not yet been finalized.

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is a period action thriller co-written and directed by Geetu Mohandas. Apart from Yash, the film also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth in prominent roles. The cast further includes Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair, Amit Tiwari, and several others in pivotal roles.

The film’s music and background score have been composed by Ravi Basrur. International action choreographer JJ Perry has helmed some of the action sequences, while the Anbariv duo has handled select action portions.

The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and will be dubbed and released in six Indian languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil.

In an earlier interview, the Rocking Star revealed that the film features several “bad*ss” female characters, highlighting their importance to the narrative.

Initially, the movie was slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, but was later postponed to June 4. However, in an effort to secure a better worldwide theatrical window, the makers once again delayed the release, with a new date yet to be announced.

Looking ahead, Yash will also be seen on the big screen during Diwali 2026 as he takes on the role of King Ravana in Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. Apart from the lead duo, the film will also feature Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, and several others in key roles.
