Janhvi Kapoor says Ram Charan and RRR are globally recognized
During a recent interaction with IANS while promoting Peddi, Janhvi shared an interesting anecdote from her international travels. According to the actress, immigration officials and airport authorities outside India often recognize Indian cinema through RRR and its leading stars.
Recalling her experience, Janhvi said, “I was just in America recently, and I have to tell everyone that the reference point for Indians right now is you. Even at immigration, they ask, ‘Are you an actor?’ and I say, ‘Yes, I am an actor.’ Then they go like, ‘Oh yes, RRR… Ram Charan… NTR,’ and I’m like, ‘Sure!’”
The actress’ remarks highlight the enduring global impact of RRR, directed by S. S. Rajamouli and headlined by Ram Charan and Jr NTR. The film gained widespread international acclaim, particularly after its digital release, and introduced Telugu cinema to a much broader global audience.
