Rubina Dilaik is all set to take on daring stunts in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, and the actress says motherhood has completely transformed the way she views life and her career. A mother to twin daughters, Rubina shared that becoming a parent has made her more fearless and motivated to break stereotypes in the entertainment industry.
Rubina Dilaik on stereotypes faced by actresses
Speaking to PTI, Rubina reflected on how female actors are often restricted to conventional roles on screen. According to her, actresses are generally expected to portray dreamy characters, wear sarees, sing songs, and fit into the “damsel in distress” image.
However, she believes reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi allow women to reveal a completely different side of themselves. Rubina said, “It is expected of us to wear saris, sing songs, be dreamy, and play the damsel in distress. But when we get on to shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi, we not only surprise others but also ourselves. What people think we might not have, we secretly do.”
The actress further explained that motherhood has brought immense inner strength and confidence into her life. She described becoming a mother as a transformative experience that awakened a sense of fearlessness within her.
Rubina on balancing motherhood and career
While talking about balancing work and parenting, Rubina admitted that motherhood has also amplified her fears, especially regarding her daughters. She said participating in a challenging show like Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 will help her understand how those fears influence her emotionally and mentally.
The actress also highlighted the importance of support systems for working mothers. According to Rubina, women should not have to seek permission to pursue their careers while raising children, and society must respect their need for personal and professional space.
